Easy oven fries
Potatoes are cheap and filling. This side a no brainer.
Cost Breakdown
According to the USDA Potatoes are about a dollar-per-pound and (not according to the USDA) three medium russets are equal to around one pound. With that being said that takes the serving size to about 33 cents a serving give or take. The ones I used were only $1.49 for a five pound bag and I used about half the bag and ate 1/4 of them which brings the serving down to 20 CENTS. Adjust for your own serving portions.
Making these in the oven doesn't come out as crispy as ones fried in oil, but they're still crispy overall and definitely delicious and satisfying...not to mention easy and convenient.

Ingredients
A bunch of russet potatoes
All seasoning
Black Pepper
Oil (Olive or vegetable)
A large bowl

After you get a bunch of potatoes and wash them, simply cut them lengthwise and flat as shown in the picture. Once right down the middle and then again because we're going for fry consistency. Ideally 4 or so for large ones and 3 or so for medium ones. If you are using small potatoes just two halves will do. This is not only because its the easiest way to cut into fry sizes but also because they are flat making it easier not to hurt yourself with a sharp knife cutting round objects.

Now cut them like in the picture. I don't know what else to tell you, pictures are worth a bunch of words.

You should have a bunch of potatoes now that look like fries. Throw them in a bowl while you are cutting them up.

Throw some all seasoning, pepper and oil in the bowl, it is pretty much up to you when it comes to how much but id say enough to evenly coat them.

Now toss them while in the bowl. It's pretty simple but maybe get used to tossing food in a pan first, or use a spoon. They should be ready to go when the oil and seasoning are coated evenly on the fries.

Throw them on a pan evenly spaced. There should be no overlapping fries otherwise they won't fully cook or will be mushy.
Oven at 450 for 15 minutes, then flip them and cook for an additional 10 minutes.

They are done! Nice and flavorful but best of all easy and foolproof..these go good with a sandwich, as a side to some barbecue, or just to eat as a snack. The possibilities are endless.

Cuban+Fries, what more do you need?
